    Quick Reply Failure?

Whenever I quick reply with an alt code, such as ♥ or ♦, it never goes through, and I have to double click submit.

    Is there a reason why?

I'm not sure what I was thinking, I mean Visitor Messages, not quick replies.

I'd need somebody to send a visitor message to.

You don't send visitor messages, you post them. Try it on this account: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/membe...etinfo&u=58056

I didn't mean to slur the process of making a visitor message.

And yes, it works fine on here.

Tell me exactly what you are doing and I'll try the same thing on my unmodified 3.7.3 test forum. It's possible this could be due to a modification you made.

I go to post a visitor message to ANYBODY, and if I include something such as ♥, it says
                  Posting Message - Please Wait

I have to click "post message" twice.

Could you please provide the ASCII code for that and how you are entering?

                          Hmmm....alt-3 gives me this: £

I just tried this on my unmodified 3.7.3 test forum and had no problems. That makes me think this is a problem with a modification.

To troubleshoot this, first reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version and that none show 'File does not contain expected contents':

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

[Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]

                          Next, disable all plugins.

Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

                          define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it.

Do you have the same problem?
