    Ajax username

For me, the AJAX username check feature doesn't work at all. It doesn't do anything when you enter the username.

Does this feature need to be turned on manually? I cannot find any such setting in the controls.

Try this. Create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Then change to this style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

If you do, empty your browser cache, close all browser windows and try again.

If you do not have this problem with the original templates, then this means the problem is with one or more of your custom templates. You need to revert your templates, then redo your changes.

Change CKEditor Colors to Match Style (for 4.1.4 and above)

I've tried this, and I've even tried using the default vBulletin theme as well, with the same results.

EDIT: I got it to work, but I think I may have found a bug...when you enter in a name that exists, and then enter a good name, it does not "green light you" unless you arrow down. Tabbing down does not work.

Then this is either a server issue or a problem from another add-on.

To troubleshoot this, first reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version and that none show 'File does not contain expected contents':

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

[Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]

        Next, disable all plugins.

Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

        define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

Okay, I did this, and everything checked out. Now, the username routine works.

One thing though, that caught my eye: in the upgrade routine it said something about Beta 2 even though I downloaded the Beta 1 version from the members area. There don't appear to be any version conflicts.

Do you have the same problem on these forums? If not then this is either a server issue or a problem with a modification you made.

Nah, there doesn't appear to be any problem. Everything is functioning correctly, it's just that in the upgrade.php routine it said something about uploading the Beta 2 text. Again, though, the AJAX routine is working, and everything else is aces: private messaging, the new profile privacy feature, etc.

I just wanted to chime in on this post and say that I've had a similar problem. Here is a link to the thread I posted

I also have no template modifications and no addons installed on my board except for vBulletin Project Tools
