    3.8.7 PL4 upgrade problems

I upgraded to 3.8.7 PL4 today by uploading the patch files downloaded from Member's Area.
I was running 3.8.7 PL3 without any problems.
    PHP is Version 5.3.3.
The problem I'm having is that trying to mark posts read throws error "Your submission could not be processed because a security token was invalid".
    Any clues please?
    Cheers.

Create a new style with no parent:
    • Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Add New Style
    • Parent Style: No Parent Style
    • Title: Default vBulletin
    • Allow User Selection: Yes
    • Save

Then browse the site using that totally default vbulletin style - do you still have the same problem?

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

      Lynne,

      Thanks for the reply.

I have tried what you suggested but it made no difference at all.

Is there anything else I can check?

Which Mark Posts Read are you clicking and getting this error on?

Try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit includes/config.php and add this line right under <?php

        PHP Code:
        define('DISABLE_HOOKS'true);

          Lynne,

I get the error on the main forum index page, it happens when I use the Mark Posts Read link at the bottom and when I use the Mark Posts Read link via Quick Links.
In individual forums, using the Mark This Forum Read link via Forum Tools does not give the error.

I have tried disabling mods/plugins but it makes no difference.

I cannot even get to your main page to see what the problem might be. Is it a normal vbulletin page or do you have vbadvanced installed? Also, your site is not running 3.8.7, it is running 3.7.6. You CANNOT install the 3.8.7 PL4 patch to your 3.7.6 site. You need to put back the default files and then follow the instructions here to patch your site - http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/node/4024569

              Lynne,

Just noticed that for some reason the forum footer shows Version 3.7.6 whereas CP shows 3.8.7 PL4.

Also, Suspect File Version tool shows a whole load of suspect files.

I've got many file versions dating back to Version 3.7.5 and several listed "File does not contain expected contents".

Does this throw any light on the matter?

Because you tried to upload the patch files. You need to do a full upgrade if you're on 3.7.5.

Your site is definitely running 3.7.6. You have never even downloaded the 3.8.7 files, so I don't know why you would think you have ever upgraded it to that version.

OK, it looks like I've gone way off track somewhere along the line. I'm not sure when, why or how but it looks like that's where I'm at.

Is the best way forward now to just download and install the full 3.8.7 PL4 package?

That is your best option, yes.
Download the full package, then run the upgrade script (not the install script!)

All sorted, no errors now and Suspect File Version tool shows everything fine.

Lesson well learned - I'll try hard to not be such a dick in future.

Many thanks to Mark and Lynne.
