    Upgrading vBulletin 3.8.7

    Hi,

I am running vBulletin 3.8.7 Patch Level 3 so I need to upgrade to vBulletin 3.8.7 Patch Level 4.
I manually edited the files mentioned in this topic:

The following are instructions for manually patching vBulletin 3.5.x, 3.6.x, 3.7.x, and 3.8.x for the patch released March 13, 2014. This patch should be applied

The topic indicates editing two files. But when I download the vb_patch387_VBF9549567 file the includes folder contains more files. Are these files also changed and do I have to upload these files too?

You only do one or the other.....

    Either:
    Upload the new files
    Or:
    Edit the old files

The patch contains the version file which is why there are more.

I recommend uploading the patch. You only need to edit the files if you're on an older version, or if you've done manual file edits to those file already for modification purposes.

The patch also contains changes from all previous patches... since there were 3 previous patches for VB 3.8.7 that is why there are many additional files in patch 4.

If you were already running VB 3.8.7 Patch 3 then the only changes you need to make were in the two files in the manual patch instructions.
