3.8.1 patch1 cannot upgrade to 3.8.2 or 3.8.3

I've tried uploading a few times both 3.8.2 and 3.8.3 and it always tells me that i seem to have the wrong version. When i click try anyway, it runs through the installation successfully but still remains as 3.8.1.

What's wrong???

You need to do a proper upgrade. Please follow the upgrade documentation here:

Overwrite all of the files in binary mode as version 3.8.3. Go to yourdomain.com/install/install.php and don't clear the contents of your database. Upgrade your VBulletin install.

After the install, click Update Counters in the admincp. You need to update your style in the admincp by clicking: Find Updated Templates.

You should be good to go.

Do not upload the vB files in Binary mode. They should be uploaded in ASCII. The only files that should be uploaded in Binary are images.

I upload all of my files as binary and they work fine on my server. If you upload all of the files as ASCII, they only mess up the images.

Your documents are more complicated than they should be.

Sorry but you are wrong. Uploading the vB scripts in Binary will mess them up.

Your FTP client is supposed to be smart enough to figure out which is which, however some aren't. You need to set it up so these extensions are uploaded as ASCII:

php
txt
html
css
js
htm
xml

And these as Binary:

gif
jpg
jpeg
png
ico
TTF

I used coreftp and filezilla. They both do the same thing. What ftp client are you using? Windows?

I use filezilla (On Linux), it should auto sort them out, I'm pretty sure it does it auto, so your files are fine because it's automatically determining how they should be uploaded.

My ftp clients say auto, binary, and ascii. My ftp clients are set to binary.
