I have a couple questions. This is my second licence and I will be importing the my forum from SMF to the new licence. If I want to import, when I install my new VB does it need to be in the same folder as SMF (/forums/) for the import? Also does the VB need to be setup to run off the same database as the SMF instalation?
before I install the new VB...........

No, install vB to a separate folder. The databases should be different. I do not recommend installing vB to the same db as SMF.Steve Machol, former vBulletin Customer Support Manager (and NOT retired!)
