    fallen at step 2

Before buying vbulletin I thought I had my sql sussed, I have simply run into a brick wall with step 2, I have re-set up my dbase which worked just fine on phpbb3 on the same website address with the same host (Citrex), but no way shape or form will vbulletin work on step 2. FED UP BEYOND BELIEF I would rather lose my $100 licence fee than pay for the install. Very, very frustrated! Help !

Did you empty your database or create a new one?

I'd suggest creating a new DB and using the impex system to transfer your data from your phpbb3 DB.

What is step 2 saying / doing?

Step 2 is where vbulletin attempts to attach to the database, if you're getting an error, it means that mysql is unable connect for some reason. Double check your config.php file.
