    HTML Module Help

    I created a new page, and only added an HTML module to it. Is there a tutorial section on using that module? I have been using VisualStudio to create some basic stuff and have a page that looks ok, but very basic for now. I'd like to know what I can and can't do, or get a basic understanding of what I can do with the module. I don't know why, but its feel like I can't create a full on webpage with it.

    I guess all I am trying to figure out right now is how to make a php script work. I have fields I want users to fill out, then I want the data emailed to me. Still working on it, but right now I can't figure out how to make this work on the HTML module, or where to place it. I do have the html table up and it functions fine, minus getting the data sent to me.

    This is the script I'm using, and am told it should work once I fill in my email and a few other touch-ups. But I have no clue where it goes yet.

    Code:
     <?php
      if(isset($_POST['email'])) {

          // CHANGE THE TWO LINES BELOW
          $email_to = "[email protected]";

          $email_subject = "website html form submissions";

          function died($error) {
              // your error code can go here
              echo "We are very sorry, but there were error(s) found with the form you submitted. ";
              echo "These errors appear below.<br /><br />";
              echo $error."<br /><br />";
              echo "Please go back and fix these errors.<br /><br />";
              die();
          }

          // validation expected data exists
          if(!isset($_POST['first_name']) ||
              !isset($_POST['last_name']) ||
              !isset($_POST['email']) ||
              !isset($_POST['telephone']) ||
              !isset($_POST['comments'])) {
              died('We are sorry, but there appears to be a problem with the form you submitted.');
          }

          $first_name = $_POST['first_name']; // required
          $last_name = $_POST['last_name']; // required
          $email_from = $_POST['email']; // required
          $telephone = $_POST['telephone']; // not required
          $comments = $_POST['comments']; // required

          $error_message = "";
          $email_exp = '/^[A-Za-z0-9._%-]+@[A-Za-z0-9.-]+\.[A-Za-z]{2,4}$/';
        if(!preg_match($email_exp,$email_from)) {
          $error_message .= 'The Email Address you entered does not appear to be valid.<br />';
        }
          $string_exp = "/^[A-Za-z .'-]+$/";
        if(!preg_match($string_exp,$first_name)) {
          $error_message .= 'The First Name you entered does not appear to be valid.<br />';
        }
        if(!preg_match($string_exp,$last_name)) {
          $error_message .= 'The Last Name you entered does not appear to be valid.<br />';
        }
        if(strlen($comments) < 2) {
          $error_message .= 'The Comments you entered do not appear to be valid.<br />';

          You're trying to put a PHP script in a Static HTML Module? Do I understand this correctly?

              I am a super duper novice at HTML rules and what not, so I have no clue what works and what doesn't. But for the most part, I can get enough good out of google to get me there.

                Can I just use HTML to send a form? Maybe I'm on the wrong track. I found an HTML tutorial that has an option to email the data submissions.

                  Scratch that, just tried a mailto: HTML code, doesn't work right and gave me trusted site warnings.

                  So I need to put the php script on the web server, which I guess I can not do becase I have VB Cloud. Has to be a way to make it work, doesn't seem too crazy.

                    I think you should place the code in a PHP module. I believe that is the purpose of that module.

                        php modules are not available on Cloud Sites, and you cannot include php code in an html module.

                            No intention of misguiding you. Was unaware PHP modules are not on Cloud sites.

                            Is there any other way I can create a submittable form, and get the fields entries emailed to me?
