guest can still post a link even with permission turned off

    Hi all.

In AdminCP, I have turned off the permission for guests to post a link. In a thread, a guest will not see the link icon in the default textbox, but if they click on the "A" on the right of the textbox, they can access the extended set of features. From there, they can click the link icon and post a link. How can I completely stop a guest from posting a link?

    Thank you.

The link permission only applies to the link content type. This doesn't prevent people using bbcode to post a link in the traditional way.

Hi Mark, thank you for your reply. Can you please clarify what you mean by the "link content type"? You mean linking to a website or a video?

Using the large link button in the editor changes the content type from a text post to a link post. This is what the permission controls.
