This is a new thing I have noticed 2 or 3 times this week. An unapproved new thread was created by a user who apparently responded to it. I guess the user can see their own unapproved posts? Anyway it happened.
There were 2 responses, which appeared blank when I clicked the preview button on the moderation page. Sometimes this can happen if a person posts an image but no text, so I approved the posts as I trusted that they were not spam.
At this point the thread became deindexed from the forum it was posted in. There are many pages of threads in the forum, so it's possible the thread could be indexed based on the wrong time, all zeroes or something else.
Also neither of the responses I approved appear in the thread at all.
Luckily I found that if I make any post in the thread, the thread will be reindexed in the forum properly. Since I can see the problem happening and I have a workaround, I can manage the problem for the time being.
I am posting a link to one thread this happened in. I can't be certain if it has happened with old threads or solely with new unapproved threads.
