    style variables

I have the main forum and one child of the main. What is the easiest way to transfer all the main stylevar settings onto the child? Would it be best to delete the child and then make another?

Do you mean, that you have a main style and a child? If the stylevar isn't modified in the child, it will inherit from its parent. You can revert style variables in individual styles by selecting them and clicking on the Revert link next to their title on the edit screen.

I have the main which is custom set the way I want it. The child of the main has different stylevar settings from testing different things out. What is the easiest way to have the child the same as the main?

From the Style Manager in the AdminCP, there is a drop down menu for each style that reads, "Choose Action..."
Click that and click Revert All Stylevars.
This will return all style variables to default or inherited (that of the parent style) settings.
