I upgraded from VB4 to VB5 Cloud...and I'm still coming across things that I cannot find. First, SEARCH? I used to be able to narrow down members by city and state....is there a way to do that now? I cannot seem to find it. The problem is I have almost 25,000 registered members...but only about 500 who pay for access....from time to time members like to send other members messages and it's hard to search for them. Along those lines, In the AVATAR area, I used to have the persons City and State Location. Can that be added some how? I know I can only edit certain thing in the cloud version but I was not sure IF I could do this or not? Let me know. That brings me to my next issue? Can you explain "Visitor" Messages vs. "Private" Messages? They seem to be the same thing....but I'm sure the fact that you offer 2 different thing it must not be different? Let me know? Thank you for all that you do. Kirk Voclain |

Search and Visitor Messages vs. Private Messages
Tags: None -
We too came from v4 to Cloud and are learning as we go.
Visitor messages are visible to other members on the person's profile. Private messages are, as they say, private. We turned visitor messages off because members were confused and risked leaving personal messages viewable by all.
Regarding locations. We used to have location in the avatar area in profile fields but it was done in v4 with added code to the postbit which we cannot do now in Cloud.
You can still add extra profile fields in the adminCP but they only show by clicking on a members profile. I think there is a Jira to add more info in the postbit. I'll see if I can find it.

We have had an issue with visitor messages, as above. Some members thought their messages were private, but they are not.
We have solved the problem by disabling visitor messages, as described here.
Is there an easy way to find all the existent visitor messages so they can be edited or deleted, or at least checked for private content?Comment

Code:SELECT n.nodeid,n.authorname AS 'From', u.username as 'To', CONCAT ('/member/', u.userid) AS 'User Profile', t.rawtext FROM `node` AS n JOIN `user` AS u ON (n.setfor = u.userid) JOIN `text` AS t ON (n.nodeid = t.nodeid) WHERE n.parentid = 8

by AEV_RJWe're running vbulletin cloud, so we should be on the latest version of everything.
We'd like to completely disable the visitor messaging system (not private messages). Or at the very least...-
