Removing a link from a post

I have a member who added a link within a post. How can I remove that link from the post, while leaving the post in tact? I clicked Remove Link, but the Add Link field and button remain and I cannot make them go away.

As far as I know you can't.

When using the link box to add the link it becomes a link post and the only way to remove it is to delete the whole post.

If this happens to us we just add the forum link in its place.

If they had simply pasted the link into the post as if it were text, then you could delete it.

You cannot. The Link Content type requires a link to somewhere.

It would require converting the post to a new content type which isn't currently possible. There is a JIRA for this.
