Why do pictures add to the post count? Shouldn't just individual posts be counted regardless of how many pics are uploaded within those posts?

Bugs are not fixed according to how old they are, they are fixed according to how they are prioritised.MARK.B

Every bug is a critical issue for somebody. The development team have finite resources and whilst it'd be lovely to fix every single bug and action every single feature request, the reality is that things have to be prioritised.
Votes are one method used to decide priority, though there are others.MARK.B

With that being said i guess that's why I'm not in charge.👍 1Comment

If i was in charge i would hold off on adding more goodies to the updates and spend that time fine tuning the product at hand. Once that is tuned then go ahead and break out some new enhancements. From my point of view adding goodies adds buggies at the sametime. It would be a much stronger product without all the glitches.

Trouble is when we focus on bugs we get similar posts demanding to know why we haven't bothered to add any features to that release. We got this a lot with the Calendar, for instance.
A balance has to be struck, new features help to promote the product so there needs to be a bit of both.
You can please some of the people, etc.MARK.B

Worth noting that 5.3.4 is mainly customer-driven bug fixes and improvements. No real new features in that.

Is it OK to promote JIRAs within the forum and tout for votes? (without becoming spammy obviously) I often think that many people don't realise that an issue exists until it affects them but if they knew about it before it does they would be happy to vote to get it fixed.

I understand that point of view, but the calendar is bugged also so this is exactly my point. Why should the day change at 9PM to the next? I bet it would only take a few updates at most to eliminate these bugs which are instrumental for the basic operation of a forum. I doubt things would suffer while this is being done, but in the end this would enhance the product immensely. Let's take a vote
Currently hoping to have that in 5.3.5 but not certain at this point.
5.3.4 is precisely a release that clears a lot of customer-centric bugs. The issue is that you can't just cram hundreds of bugs into a release, they have to be fixed and tested and the testing process isn't simple because you're not just looking for the bug itself being fixed, you're looking for whether it breaks anything else - which can easily happen.
Bugs ARE being worked through though.MARK.B
