Analytics tracking code malfuntion?

For whatever reason, I am unable to add the tracking code given to me from analytics to verify my site to the google search engine. I paste the code as i see it into the Vbulletin "Enter Google Analytics box" nothing has bee working.

Been at this for more then a day, need some help with this problem

I have no idea what i did wrong because i set this up before with no problem at all.

You seem to be talking two different things, Google Analytics and Google Ownership Verification. If you mean Analytics, then paste the Analytics code excluding the <script></script> tags in the GA code field and then enable it. If Verification then paste the meta tag code in the Verification HTML tag field and then enable it.
