CNAME and using the forum as a sub-domain

    My domain is disidencia.info

I've had my forum running as www.disidencia.info for 2 years now, minor issues, no complaints. I'll renew the subscription for one more year within 5 days

Now I want to have the forum running as a feature for my website, currently under constructuion, so I have to set it up as a sub domain. It will be forum.disidencia.info

    I created this CNAME entry
    forum 0826afe3-8347-403a-a309-d3543629a0fe.vbulletin.net 14400

I'm aware it is said that it should be blahblablah.vubulletin.net. but my zone editor doesn't allow it, so it has to be with the final dot missing

Now if I ping forum.disidencia.info it's translated to

    Danis-MacBook-Pro:~ Dani$ ping forum.disidencia.info
    PING d3543629a0fe-000703.vbulletin.net (98.158.199.20): 56 data bytes
    Request timeout for icmp_seq 0
    Request timeout for icmp_seq 1
    Request timeout for icmp_seq 2
So it looks right for my stupid and illiterate eyes, DNS translates it...but it doesn't work, so it cannot be right

At the very same time, my forum which you can visit here, https://d3543629a0fe-000703.vbulletin.net, doesn't apply CSS

    What should I do?

    Thanx in advance

    Your CNAME is not showing:
    http://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?...o&run=toolpage

You need to take this up with whoever manages your domain.

Note that it can take up to 48 hours for a new CNAME record to show up, though it usually much sooner.

      First things first.

Thanx for your answer and sorry for two things, one is posting up the same thread in the two sub-forums

      My fault

The second thing I'm sorry about...My sub-domain actually is this one foro.disidencia.info

Which it shows up in the website you used, barring the fact of having mispelled the subdomain, everything else remains the same

      How should I proceed?

Thanx in advance and best regards, truly

        Hello

Looks like the URL was set incorrectly in your cloud console. I have corrected everything our end and the site should now work. SSL will be turned on shortly.

          I received this mail

Since you have chosen to use your own domain (rather than a sub-domain on vbulletin.net), you must configure this domain's CNAME record with your domain registrar (or other DNS service provider if used) in order for your forum to be displayed on that domain. You will want the CNAME to point to the following URL:

          d3543629a0fe-000703.vbulletin.net
If you have questions on how to configure the CNAME, you can read the following tutorial: http://www.vbulletin.com/go/update_cname

Once your CNAME record is set up, it will take a little time for that information to propagate throughout the internet (usually just a couple hours but potentially as much as 24 to 48 hours). If it isn't working after 48 hours, something may have gone wrong and you're welcome to contact our customer support team for further assistance.

https://foro.disidencia.info is working since you made changes

Should I do what the mail says or it is over and done for good because of you?

          In any case, many thanx

The email was correct, but you don't need to do anything now.

Your site works, apart from https, which we will fix early next week for you.

            Sorry for the inconvenience.
