Can you turn off access to the about section for other users and only have it for the actual user.

This is the reason i am asking if this information can be turned off to everyone except the actual user and the admins.
I have used this site as my example and BirdOPrey5
1 - not logged in
2 - whos on line
3 - picked Joe as an example
4 - opened the about tab
5 - could then open up all of his past posts on this site.
This can be done for every user on this site.

No way I know of disabling the about tab. You should be able to disable access to the member list by usergroup permissions if you don't want guests seeing the user list. Finding all posts by a user is usually considered a useful feature. You could remove it by editing the templates if you really didn't want it.Comment

Joe Thanks for the reply.
I have disabled the members list to guests that was the easy part.
Havnt got so much of an issue with registered members being able to look at all posts but do have with the general public/guests.
Have been able to hide it from all by doing the following. Is there any issues by doing this.
Admincp
open up on user profile page
edit page
edit profile module
show module at these sizes (unticked all 3)
save page and exitComment

Unchecking those boxes will successfully hide the content from everyone, however if anyone views the HTML Source of the site in their browser, they will still see the content. Like wise a search engine like Google, if they can view the page as a guest, will still be able to read that content since it is in the source of the page.Comment

So the only way to get rid of it completely is to edit the templates.
Nothing is Private anymore i guess.

Maybe I'm missing the meaning of the OP but User Profile viewing is able to be controlled by usergroup. If they don't have permission, they will not see the profile page at all even at the source level.
You can restrict Unregistered / Not logged in from seeing profile info by going to admincp > usergroup manager. Select 'Unregistered / Not logged' in and click Go. Scroll down to General Permissions and set Can View Member Info to No. This will send the unregistered users to the no permissions page when they click on a profile.

Thanks Replicant it is so easy when you know where to find this.
? Why would that be set to yes by default i think most forums would not want non registered people to be able to see that information.
Now to go back and alter everything else i did to try and hide it.Comment

by rag_guptaI'm on a user's profile page. But I'm not able to see his all posts.
This particular user has 3 posts and I want that every registered user should be able to reach out to all his posts:...1 Photo-
