Configuring registered users to be able to subscribe to forums

Does anyone know where I can set the permission for a registered user to be able to subscribe to a forum. When a user currently tries that they get an error message: Error: Sorry, you are not authorized to view this page


Any help much appreciated.

They need access to the Messages Page. If you've made changes to the permissions of the Specials channel and its children, undo them.
