How to Make Category and set up topics underneath

When I try to do this my topics become nested. It should be so easy, but I'm having the hardest time. How do I do this?

TWO WEEK WAIT CLUB (this would be the forum category)

(these topics would be in the forum)

Moved to a more appropriate location.

There are two ways to do what you want to do.

    Using Site Builder.
    1) Click Edit Site to turn Site Builder on.
    2) Click Channel Manager in the Site Builder menu.
    3) The Channel Manager will list your forums.
    4) Click "Make Category" on the forum you want to make a category.
    5) Click the '+' button to add a sub-forum to a forum. Give it a title and press enter to create it.
    6) Repeat Step 5 as needed.

    Using the Admin CP
    1) Login to the AdminCP
    2) Go to Channel Management -> Channel Manager.
    3) Find the forum you want to change in the channel list and click the "Go" button next to the drop down labeled Edit Channel.
    4) Set the "Act as Channel" option to no.
    5) Save this channel.
    6) In the channel list, find your forum and using the dropdown initially labelled "Edit Forum" select "Add a child Channel".
    7) Fill out the form on the next page and submit it.
    8) Repeat steps 6 and 7 as needed.

Thanks Wayne - I followed the steps but why do I have grey area between each topic in the forum? It should just be a line.

      Thanks

That would tell me each forum is a top level forum. If you send an email to [email protected] with "Attn: Wayne" in the topic, and how you want it to be set up in the system, I can fix it and then you can review how that is setup for the future.
