Latest posts module not updating for some users

I'm not sure if this is a Cloud issue, or just a general issue, but it's on a cloud based site, so I'm asking here.

I have a latest posts module. The settings are: sort by date - last updated. descending and in sources I have all the forums set. However for some users in some threads, when they post, it doesn't show the latest thread as being updated. If that makes sense. It seems to be the same users and forums. Is there a setting I'm missing? What can I investigate? I've had a look through a few things but can't see anything obvious.

It doesn't update immediately....the results are cached.
You can force an update by clearing the system cache under Maintenance in the AdminCP.

I thought it might be a cache issue, the person comes in and posts in say 3 threads and only 1 of those threads shows up as having a new post. If that makes sense? It seems more like a user or channel setting or issue.
