Question. Does it matter that they are located in the UK? For US based sites, or does that have nothing to do with speed? - Seriously considering them

A site located in US will obviously load faster for you if you are in the states or your customers are from same region. You can ask both of the companies for their test IP's and ping them. But usually the difference won't be much...

Hosting near to your visitors would definitely make it faster, and probably rank you higher on local searches. (google.com / google.co.uk)

I have contacted nimbushosting this evening. I have a forum with 6000 members, but only 500 active and around 60 on-line at any one time (+50 guests). I have been looking at their whirlwind VPS package. Any idea if this package is likely to give me a reasonable service and speed? Currently I use streamline.net on a shared server and my load speeds of late have been really bad.
Any comments would be appreciated.
