Leaving newtork solution, should we consider a Shared or go for a VPS hosting plan?

We have about 20-40 users on at the same time (plus a few bots) and are running 4.xx.

Our current configuration with network solutions was generation about a 1000 db errors a day.

So should we we look into a shared host or look into a VPS?

    Thanks!

    I'd go a VPS with 1GB (1.5GB if cPanel)
    environment: Centos 6.9, Apache v2.4.25, PHP 5.6.30/xCache, MariaDB 10.22 -- vB5 Connect Licensed

20-40 users online is very much within the limits of a shared hosting account. Why spend more and take the overheads of an own server, when shared hosting will do just fine? Most overselling hosts would host sites big enough for a medium VPS in shared hosting and users move from shred to dedicated servers directly. However, I would recommend you a reasonable priced non overselling shared account (Liquidweb, ASmallOrange for eg) or a specialist like URLJet, if you good performance.
