Yes they can...most hosts will host you no matter where you are.

I use Nimbus and am in the UK but previously used hosts in the US, Canada, and Germany.

      Which vBulletin are you using?

If you're tech savvy, then Nimbus is expensive.
Find other hosts, there are many good hosts out there.

If you're not, then it is one of the best option since vB4 demands optimization to not run like turtle.

What do you mean by how much?
If it's about the pricing, you can check it directly at Nimbus of course.
If it's about price comparison, you can find better alternatives if you're tech savvy.
That is to say, you must optimize vB yourself.

I'm tech savvy and use Nimbus....there's more to it than that. I got sick of downtime, messing about, overselling, hosts that didn't understand the product I was running, etc etc.

I don't have time to be messing about with poor quality, cheaper hosts. I'd rather pay for a proper service that actually stands up to some usage:

What are you trying to argue actually here?
That other hosts can't give the same quality?

Mind you, I'm not trying to sell the OP a product and then get fee from doing so.
I'm giving him an opinion that is as objective as I can be.

You certainly wasn't being objective nor you gave him any comparison with other hosts.

I had a bad experience with Nimbus, the sad fact is that no managed hosting is perfect and your fate is always in someone elses hands, much better to learn how to manage your own hosting then you have no one to blame but yourself (except for hardware/network issues) It is actually not that difficult with cpanel. As for hosting in another Country there is a time penalty of about half a second from US to UK. People also say that google favours your search results to where your server is, probably better to host in the country that most of your target users are if possible.

Donald1234 is right about hosting close to your visitors, that helps in SEO more than speed of the site. URLjet is a very popular and highly rated host, based in US. Two of the most popular hosts in this forum and URLJet and Nimbus, you can choose one that feels right for you. Obviously there are cheaper hosts, but these are managed VB hosts worth the money.
