$100/month or less. 13k members... Help!

Currently on media temples DV servers and they SUCK! Forum has been running very slow. We pay $100 for 1GB memory, 50GB disk, 1.5Tb xfer. Any hosting out there that can beat this?

Emailed media temple and they said our database Is too big and we use too much MYSQL.

        Do you have any suggestions?

I tried WebHostingTalk and did not like it! A lot of hosting owners pimping their own service. Makes it hard to know who to trust/believe.

It has 9 years of posts/tables on it. Forum stats:

          120,000 threads
          2,000,000 posts
          13,905 members
Approx 300-400 active at any one time. Were a football forum, so on game days that active number goes up to 1,500 and our forum sometimes crashes.

Sorry, are you looking for the GB's of the actual database? I'm not sure how to get that. If you can tell me how, I'll let you know!

We had a dedicated server with media temple and it was a crawl! We had the same problem with MYSQL as well.

Switched to liquid web and have not had a problem since. They do start at around $175 though, but you do get a managed server(that you have almost complete control on) with the best tech support I have seen.

I've found Linode to be brilliant (and very affordable), though they are unmanaged so you have to be prepared to install and configure what you need. Their library (http://library.linode.com/) is very useful though if you want a guide to the most common tasks and their forums are helpful to.

But again if you want something managed they probably aren't for you. Either way best of luck, and whoever you go with ensure you read some reviews and so on first!
