hosting with less than 1000 members

My vBulletin board will be starting out from scratch, so it will be lifeless from the start. And, I don't anticipate having more than 1000 members once it does get going. It might get more, but the local group that I'm setting up won't likely grow beyond a 1000. If I only had that low amount of traffic, what host could get the job done at a reasonable cost. URLJET is the best out there, but $25 for shared hosting seems a bit much, at least from the start.

Your best bet is startlogic, they offer lots of space for a small price tag. The use the vDeck control panel however.
URLJet is probably your best bet apart from StartLogic.

If you are looking for a cheaper option, try Hostgator. They are one of the best shared host, with a reasonable price and friendly support.
But URLJet and Hostgator are not exactly same. URLJetoffer specialised VB services like upgrades, patches, plugins etc. where as Hostgator is a general shared host.

I would actually steer clear of HostGator, as they have also been closing down vb4 sites and throwing them off their servers. VB4 and IPB are both quite server intensive softwares, and neither run long on low cost shared hosting. There is a lacking market for entry level VB and IPB hosting IMHO... great options when you're at the $50 a month hosting mark, but under VPS level... getting very scarce to find decent hosting that isn't going to smack you in the pocket or over the knuckles and boot you.

GlobalGold are a VB specialist host, and they do have an entry level at US$15, 10 pound UK I believe.

I would stay away of any host offering unlimited space/bandwidth in general.

Indeed, any host stating facts like "UNLIMITED BANDWIDTH HERE!" is to be avoided.

GlobalGold are a VB specialist host, and they do have an entry level at US$15, 10 pound UK I believe.

I use them for a couple of sites with no problems at all. Great support also.

You can get hosting from at least $10 a month very easy.

You can use www.eurovps.com . I loved them because there suport excellent. Shared will be best for you. After 8000 visitor perday go with vps.
