Dunno why it took so long, it's faster to do it manually, but vBulletin took so long making them by its self.

Unless you intend your site to be a hobby site or a spamming site, steer clear of any host under $10 per month.

I would check at webhostingtalk.com and see what others have said
as stated above, most review sites are posting positive reviews linking to affiliate sales

Justhost is also pone of the best webhosts now a day. But I guess, before deciding, look for reviews online so that you would know what are the experiences of other people using it
