    Short review of www.globalgold.co.uk

Well, I've been creating websites since 1998, and I have tried more hosts that I can count, but www.globalgold.co.uk has really impressed me so far. The support is great, even if I only have been in contact with 2 people (Tim and Paul), and the server is very fast. I have all the space and bandwidth I can possibly need. What really makes a difference is how much these 2 guys would do for support, when I signed up they started setting up the VPS as I wanted, later at night when I was ready to move everything from my old host. Tim helped me for 2-3 hours online and we got everything working as it should.

    Pros:
Very fast and stable servers (UK)
    Good price
Good personal support (from early morning to late night)
    Friendly staff

    Cons:
Office hours to 5.30 pm (there is mail support later though)
No ticket or chat system (support is by mail directly)
    Website limited on support resources

    Contact:
Send me a private message for a link to my forum and login information (it's a private forum).

    Thanks for reading, more info:

I use them too and they're great! Tim is indeed very helpful and Chris is the guy who usually sorts out my problems.

They did my last vBulletin upgrade for me, and have installed Joomla on another site for me.

Their hosting prices are reasonable and support is great

Thank you so much for posting up this information. I am currently looking for a UK based hosting site so will check them out.

      Thank you!

Never used them, but only heard good things about them for UK based hosting.

I moved to them in March having had mediocre experiences with two previous hosts. I have never looked back, I finally have the speed and reliability that my members want and I have always sought.

They are obviously not the cheapest host out there, because you really do get what you pay for. Their prices are very competitive though.

My site is here if anyone needs an example but Tim will provide you with loads if you ask....(on mine you can even see the genuine server loads at the bottom):
Interactive satire community with arcade & casino, based on heated, uncensored debate & arguments.

Bear in mind I'm on a VPS so the loads relate only to my site, unlike shared hosting where they relate to all sites on the server.

I've just moved an account to them on their shared hosting package. Even in just 4 days, the communication I've had from Tim has been way above the level I had in several years with the previous company.

Looking forward to a long relationship with them!

They're a good choice and I also thoroughly recommend them. I moved to them as my last host was proving problematic, ie, I was having to get them to restart the server at least twice a week which was a major ball-ache! So far I have had no such probelms at all. I'd recommend the VB750 plan I think it is (which refers to the number of active users) I've had 400+ with no problems

Glad you like it, it's one of those few hosts where once you have been setup, it just works.

Seems Global Gold is a good web host !!! Need to check their tern around time and uptime guarantee, though i always prefer to go with a host who serves their clients round the clock 24x7 Live chat is my favorite feature which i always look for,

Globalgold isn't technically there 24/7, though every time I've emailed them out of hours they have actually got back to me.

To be honest though, the chances of problems are really slim indeed. I'm not sure what the uptime guarantee is, but six months out of seven my situptime.com report has come through at 100%, the only time it didn't it was 99.8% and that was because Tim was upgrading something on the server (planned maintenance).

My sites have not been down at all in the time I have been with Globalgold, the emails are always answered, even if I write a sunday, so don't worry.

Im also with GlobalGold, and they've been great. Excellent customer support and my site is consistently running well, never get any slow periods, and this is on a shared host.

If your users are in North America, would this still be recommended? or it solely for users in U.K.

I mean, would this use up more bandwidth or slow down the website?
