Any modern web hosting solution that doesn't cripple their customers accounts, and meets the vBulletin requirement (latest stable of OS/Apache/PHP/MYSQL and optionally APC) is suitable for vBulletin.
Should we be looking for companies that specialize in vB hosting?

To be fair, I haven't come across a host that uses the slow ones. In any case, the lastest server I have is a 7,200RPM SATA II drive, without my specification. I've been running on a VPS of one sort or another since 2003, rather than a virtual host. The difference is how crippled the WHM has been.Comment

If you pay enough you can have whatever you want. If you need a solid state hard drive for your vb board then you must have about the largest forum on the planet or something. Somehow large forums managed for a long time before these came on the market.Comment

I changed to Globalgold in March, they do understand the needs of vB better.
it's not so much that vB is resource hungry, it's more to do with hosts that simply install php and MySQL and run with it, not even understanding anything about forums or vB in particular.
A host that actually knows something about the product you are going to be running is always desirable.Croatian forum about healthy living and holistic medicine
