yes, from what I hear, they are pretty average. Have read so many complaints on hosting forums. Probably you can look for something better.

Stay away...very slow loading times for the sites I have seen hosted by them, which I assume is caused by packed servers creating high server loads.

The biggest problem is that they do not allow you to make full backups, and if you want to change of host, you have to pay the $20 or $50 (can't exactly recall) for a backup of your site.

SiteGround is a similar oversold-host that you you will find in all other "top-10" hosts.

I've had siteground for 2 years and they seem to give you very little when your database starts getting bigger.

My site is very small only 55,000 posts, 3,700 threads, and 3,500 members. Now all my nightly cron jobs time out because they limit the query time I guess. I get vbulletin database errors when trying to run most the cron jobs and I no longer can complete nightly backups. Their response is that my site is too big now and to either optimize or to upgrade to a VPS server which starts at $100 a month. The site is optimized as I had this problem last year.

Does anyone know of any decent shared hosting sites that aren't as strict? My site isn't a powerhouse and it seems like I should be able to get away with a shared hosting account without needing to upgrade to a VPS or dedicated server. I just need something I can run my damn nightly cleanup jobs and run backups on.

Siteground was also a big disappointment for me as well. My site was always slow and their response times left a lot to be desired. It always felt like I was dealing with someone very far away from me.

Soon after, I found URLJet and never went back.

They know vBulletin and they specialize in it and to me they are the best, most supportive host around.

You can always give them a look see: URLJet
