    Will it cope?

Hey all ^_^ I have just started my server (using Godaddy economy hosting).

Its started of grand, but I have been notified that a publication is going out that will see around 500 people sign up to my forum in a very short amount of time relatively.

Will my current hosting cover me? Im assuming it will be just a spike.

    cheers

P.s also I sell something on my actual website. Ive signed up for Paypals shopping cart etc and is installed grand. A guy on another forum said that I NEED to have a SSL license. Is this true?

As for SSL. If the shopping cart is on paypal.com then it will already have a secure socket layer(SSL) however. if your customers are entering their credit card info etc onto your forum directly. it would be a good idea to have SSL. for customer saftey.

      Hi,

Don't forget that SSL requirers an dedicated ip adress (costs money) and the actual security certificate isn't free either.I suggest you find out if you *really* need SSL before spending any money on tools you need

Any ideas in regards the other query?

Also on my forum it gave an odd error where it showed my messages as being $^&^%&@^ full. (something like that)

        Any ideas?

To put it in short terms...uhm...it could hold, but not for very long. Although it seems like a lot of space, I'd suggest upgrading if things get too slow/crashes/database errors.
