Is Hostgator similar in style to other hosts?

Noob.

Things like control panel, web site statistics, back up/restore, and anything else that might apply. I've got a godaddy, but don't want to use them for vBulletin, and they seem to be non-standard in a few areas like control panel and statistics.

I'd like to get a host that does most things similar to other hosts.

They use cPanel which is widely used by hosts so that would be what you're looking for.
