    Why don't you like it?

But hard to believe you can't find a web host that offers centos - it's virtually everywhere in web hosting world!

Cloud Linux is built off of CentOS (is considered a branch / distro of CentOS). Just like how kubuntu is Ubutnu... Only difference is it used KDE.

So what I seem to notice is you have A LOT of host who say, they use CentOS and technically, it's not a lie.

I disagree with this argument, but if you visit a large web hosting talk forum (webhostingtalk.com for example)... You'll see how many are willing to chime in.

vBulletin without any modification and almost no users online... Seems to come to a crawl with Cloud Linux (on most web host). You'll hear how "X" host was so good, up until they converted.

CloudLinux is built for scale/resource sharing/server sharing/cloud, at the cost of performance.

I used Windows Server 2008 but now I migrate to CentOS Enterprise Linux V5. Really happy with this decision.

I am currently on a shared hosting on linux centos. but i noticed that my server loads get to 2.00 with only 2 people on the website, which causes a major slow down! So I am considering going Dedicated. Might look also for Mac os servers, or just stay with linux!

a shared server is NOT "your server" and webhosting is a unix world anybody saying otherwise is a gui noobie

A VPS is much faster than a regular shared instance and much less expensive than a dedicated server. I would try that out first.

Mac OS X Servers aren't worth it IMO.

I just posted in the host experiences thread https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/show...=1#post2311603

We moved from Windows 2008 R2 Web Edition onto Debian Squeeze. I really can't over emphasize the joys of moving enough, and I maintain Windows Servers for a living.
