request - good servers for heavy loaded forums

i need advice
i'm looking for best host at reasonable price
currently i'm running dual xeon 2.4G with loads 20-70
daily traffic - 65-80GB
users - 135 000
posts - 500 000

also should be fast accessable from all coutries

i've changed more then 10 hosts but i'm still not satisfied

please advise me ppl with really big and heavy loaded forums

what are you looking to spend each month ?

also what is the present ram / port switch on your machine ?

am assuming you have 135 users and about 500 posts every day. If that is true, your daily traffic is just nuts ... unless you're hosting files for downloads (mp3's / torrents / video files)

My stats are about as same as yours, I get 65 users during the slowest time of the day and about 190 during traffic times and posts are about 500 everday. I also host DJ mixes for downloads and have about 1000 GB of transfer each month.

My present machine is a 3 GHZ P4 with Hyperthreading enabled and 1 GB of Ram on a 10MBIT port. Surf my site and see the performance of the box. My present load averages are 0.35 0.24 0.17

EDIT: 135,000 members and only 500,000 posts seems odd. Thats a heck of a lot of members and too few posts.

2GB ECC memory
10mb lan
dual xeon 2.4 with HT

Ross, how much are you looking to spend each month ? Additionally what software are you looking for (in the event you're looking for something in addition to the standard WHM / php / Apache / MySQL on Linux)

It may be worth considering one server for HTTP and a second for MySQL.

I just checked out your forum and your initial post was a little misleading. Yes you have ~135000 users, but that's TOTAL, not daily, which is how your initial post made it sound. And you have ~500000 posts, but again, total... We host a couple large forums, some with multiple servers and some with 1 server. Anywhere between 500-2500 users online at a time. I'll PM you the domain names and a price quote.

Try http://www.pair.com. They're pricey but well worth it IMHO, been in the business for over 10 years gotta say something. I've been with them for a year and very happy. No, I'm not affiliated with them in anyway.
