Colin, they're not claiming to be officially affiliated from what I am reading below, they are simply stating they have experience in hosting and catering to vBulletin communities.
No real worries .

They ousted me because of my vBulletin forum.
First of all they could not pinpoint exceeding any performance nor resource specifications. They just felt that I was overusing their resources.
Obviously they would love to have a lot of users with single page homepages with no traffic paying $4.99 each.Comment

I'm not affiliated or picking sides, nor trying to single you out, but too many people expect to be able to house 50+ users online in a shared hosting environment when it simply isn't possible if the same server is housing other communities with the same activity .
Once you're in the 50+ range, it's time for a VPS account in most cases. If the 50+ is causing major traffic and load, then dedicated.Comment

Well, technically speaking, different servers have different limitations. While they may host many vBulletin communities, they could be very small with 1-10 users online each. With that, these loads really do not test too much for them nor generate an actual load.
When a community comes along with 4-5x that many online users, it's much more noticable. It's not that they are picking on you specifically, however it's good practice to move busier forums or websites to another server or offer an upgrade (if available).
When it doubt, it's best to e-mail a host before signing on to see if they are a capable of hosting a forum larger in nature.Comment
