Vbulletin on a ServInt VPS Solution - How about Performance ?

I would like to know from some experienced members/staffers about hosting a little busy vbulletin forums on a VPS Server ?

Our forums are quite busy with atleast 50+ users anytime of the day and going upto 150-200 users easily everyday. (under 5 minutes cookie timeout)

Yes, but the guaranteed ram should be 512mb, that way you know you have enough buffer in case it gets busy on the forum. From the 8gb they say to have 1gb is used for your account? That could indicate there is enough to spread the stress between other accounts on the server, mysql and resources running.

I have made an account with them and now i have to instruct them What all needs to be installed for running my vbulletin there.
Can you please also guide me for this ?

I will REd hat 9.0 running there as the base os.
What versions of additional software should be installed ?

vBulletin also requires XML and would be handy to have GD library 2.x
You can look into Zend Optimizer.

My site is currently hosted with ServInt, although my forums aren't that busy.
One thing you might want to know is that the GD Library isn't installed by default there, so you could install it yourself or have the NOC do it. I asked them to do it and they had it done in less than 15 minutes.

Depending on what you are used to apache 1 or 2 (i like 2 for windows but don't have much expirence with it on linux)

2.5.7 is the only one that will work with php 4.3.10, XML which ever comes bundled with php 4.3.10 is fine.

Not sure to be honest, i know that we run 2 here and I run 1 with cpanel, either will do i think its more of a personal prefrence at this point, i may be wrong.

According to a reliable source apache 2 is much faster, so you might want to go that way
