DSL DIY Hosting vs. Dedicated Server

Wondering if anyone here is doing this or thought of doing this as a option besides using hosting services... if you do the math, its cheaper to have 1.5/384 ADSL serivce than pay monthly for a dedicated server.

384k at full capacity at all times allows you about 120GB of transfer a month... of course given usage trends aren't going to be flat, it should still sufficient for most but the busiest of sites.

There is the issue of reliability, redundancy, etc, but having the server close by can be an advantage you don't have when renting a dedicated server.
    vB 3.6.4 (No hacks), RedHat Enterprise 3 (+hotfixes), Lighttpd 1.4.13, PHP 5.2.1 (FastCGI, gzip), MySQL 4.1.21, P4 2.0GHz, 512MB RAM, 80GB IDE disk
