    Dreamweaver deals with the php tags pretty well, but DW3 doesn't seem to support the .php extension by default so you need to tell the program it shouldn't modify your code in a php file. After you've done that it will leave alone your files.

        In the preferences of dreamweaver you can see that the html no-rewritting is set only to the files with php3 extension.
