How to give the SMTP-Server to the Script ?

    Hi you all there !

First, sorry about my english, because I'm german and my schooldays are long time ago...

    I've one big question :

I know the mail()-function, but there you can't set a smtp-server to where the emails should be sended.
With this email()-function you can only send the mails over the mailserver which is just configured on the server, where the script lies.

But what to do, if there is no mailserver configured ???

(this is not my own server ! So I can't modify the php.ini !)

Is there a mail-function, with which I can send the mails over a specific smtp-server ?

Please give me answer very soon... ) ...very much thanks....and sorry again, about my english....

    Hey there...

There is no mail function in PHP that allows you to send through an SMTP server.

However, you might want to have a look at this script:

It does exactly, what you're looking for.

    Hope That Helps,

    Bogdan/Anscoop

        very much thanks !!!

This skript works fine !!! Thanks again !

But now, I have another question...
        I've win98 with the apache-server and php4.0.1pl2...
But I can't give some variables direktly in the address-line of the browser to the php-skripts !

        something like :

        ...don't work !!!

It' doesn't matter, which with which skript I'll try this, it doesn't work with ANY of my skripts !

Is this only (I hope so) a feature in php.ini, which I must switch on ?

If it is so....which feature is it ?

        Please help !
