Form Question

I am working on a form for a site for class registration. My question is, is there a way to have a link go to the registration page and fill information into the form via the url of the link. Example:

index.asp?name=classname&value=class2 (this is the part I don't know how to do)

and this would cause the page to have a certain value selected in a drop down menu. I would also like to know if there would be a way to have information be filled into blank text fields via the url as well.

I don't believe there is any function in vB to do this. Try asking over at vbulletin.org.

Oh sorry if this forum is only for vB related questions, but I was asking for something that I am working on outside of vB, I asked at these forums because I knew a lot of great coders are here and I would get a good answer.
