Console based MSNM program for linux?

A friend at a previous job had a program that you can use AIM, MSMN and ICQ from the console. I cannot remember what it's called now. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

If you're talking about xbox (which i presume you are) try http://www.xboxlink.co.uk/ i don't know exactly what that is, but from what i gather it's an Xbox messenger.

Actually, I'm very sure he means a text based console app.

Not a big deal. Any ideas? I know there's a lot of linux users out there.

Take a look through the list here: http://packages.gentoo.org/packages/?category=net-im

centericq being the only one I can see to do all the main ones, minus AIM, which there are standalone console clients for in the list.
