Which hacks are must have ones ?

    Hello Folks !

Which hacks do you think are must have ones for vbulletin forums ? Which other ones are nice and useful ?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Who was Online Today is a must have for me.

It shows who is active and who isn't.

Hacking of vBulletin should be discussed at http://www.vbulletin.org.

Really depends on you... I don't consider any of the hacks as must haves.

          I'm not surprised, every feature that a member of the vB team wanted in vBulletin probably was added in vB3. Excluding of course a unflawed thread marking system. ^_^;;

            In vB2, Quick Reply was a must. In vB3, I don't see anything that's a must.

Then your missing a lot, Jelsoft have done a brilliant job but there's so much more to be added, not all hacks are needed but there are a lot that are appricated and should have been in from standard.

but in answer to the orignal question it depends what you are looking for, you might want to add game's and fun stuff, or just things that help out the admin.

one that I think is a must and it's so funny is the [you] hack, you can have so much fun with that

His point is that there are no real "must have" hacks. There are some really good ones, but none are really essential.

I'm going to have to agree with Wayne on this one, although I do like making and playing with all teh hax.

I wonder if there are any Thread Marking system hacks, that is a must in my book.

Then i take it you were one of the people who if following the whole "vb3 is 2 years late and i should get myself a free dummy to suck on" debate, you would be in there saying "its ready when its ready!"

Having all the wanted features coded as features and not as hacks would have added a long time to the developement cycle.

So without this hack, your site wouldn't work?

Likewise. While my vB2 installation is hacked to allow for features that have grown on users, the architecture of vB3 has allowed me to add many features without any hacking whatsoever, and I don't plan on starting again.

I think that having the thread post time on the forum display is a must have... It was in the old vB2 system and my members can't live without it

I like template modifications more to improve vbulletin, rather then source code hacking.

Any source code hack I apply are tweaks to get more out of the system, like 'ip behind proxy' and things like that.
