I'm getting a TV that supports component video (this isn't an HDTV). I have an XBox, DVD player, and Gamecube, all of which support component video in one way or another. My receiver only supports two video inputs, and those are the low-quality composite connections.
So, I'm thinking of switching to an all-component setup. I wouldn't think twice if it weren't for the price: I'd have to get new video connectors for both the Gamecube and XBox, and a component video switcher (I'm looking at http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...90419?v=glance, and if I get a switcher, it would have to support HD for future use).
So, would it be worth the (about) $150 for the $25 XBox connector, $30 Gamecube component video connector, and the $90 switcher, or is it just not worth it? Also, given that I don't have component video cables for the DVD player, would I also need some or would I be fine using any old RCA connectors?
