Im thinking of buying a new ibook laptop instead of using what im currently using now, Windows xp. It is purely for music producing, so which would be better?
Windows or Mac?

I dont think you'd get that great of quality in audio with the iBook, seeing as its only stock audio input is a stereo mini plug, but with a USB connection to some kind of optical audio thingy (I know, technical!) you might be using garage band in no time.
I'd prefer it over any PC for video editing though, Final Cut Pro is awesome. -
are there any good music editing software for Macs? Only good program I know was Sony's Sound Forge (windows though)ManagerJosh, Owner of 4 XenForo Licenses, 1 vBulletin Legacy License, 1 Internet Brands Suite License

For music editing grab a Apple iBook g4 or a TiBook and you'll be set. Depending on what you want to edit you might want to check out something like the Digidesign Mbox. It works great and i have many friends who use a setup like that. But it's up to you. I still say mac is the best for Audio Editing.Jon Whitcraft

Apple has been in the music industry for the longest time and it's trusted when it comes to writing music applications for the os. Check out sweetwater.com and you'll find some good information about what software runs on what...Jon Whitcraft

Go with a Mac.
I find them to be a lot more stable when it comes to running large applications such as ones needed for audio editing.
iBook + Traktor (Mac Version) = Better than what you would ever get on a PC.:)Comment

Mac all the way You cant go wrong with it for Video, Music, and garageband is a cool looking app and you get a suite for $49! I have an ibook and it's great, But not to sure if it will be a good choice over a desktop Mac for Music production.Louis| Techieville.comComment
