Sometimes I use Beyond Compare, Other than that, I just use CuteFTP Pro and it's built in HTML editor (CuteHTML) to edit everything and anything.

Why does nobody ever use Zend Studio? The personal edition is free and it is hands down the most powerful PHP-specific IDE...

Would have to agree there... I found it absolutely terrible. Which is a shame because I really wanted to like it... some of the features are fantastic, it's just a shame that as a package it's nigh unusable.

                          My tool set:
                          • Homesite 5.5 (should never have upgraded from 5.2 though)
                          • Tortoise CVS
                          • Putty SSH
                          • WinSCP
                          • Adobe Photoshop
                          • MS OneNote 2003
That gives me just about everything I need.

I agree it can be frustrating to use, but are there other dedicated PHP IDEs that include those tooltips/code popups?

                            I like your directness, Wayne

I found Zend to be good in every aspect but one - it's incredibly slow. Just holding down a key will often create a good deal of lag in there. :-/

Other than that, I like it.
