What search software do you use on your site?

I'm looking to add a site search (mainly for my own internal quality control) and have looked at a variety of search programs on Hotscripts and Freshmeat and have found nothing that has really stood out yet.

I'm looking for a solid search that will allow me to index the site and just do some basic key word searches. What do you recommend?

The free version is good, and you get an unlimited trial of the paid version. They also have an auto-install. Give them your ftp username and password, tell them were to connect to, and you can instantly install it on your website.

I use the freebie service from www.atomz.com and cannot fault it. All they ask in return is for you to display a small logo on each query/results page. They manage the whole thing so there is no hassle involved and no upgrades to do.

I'm designing my entire site around vB so it uses a hacked version of vB's search.

Google for your own site solely? I have not seen this option on thier site? Can you provide a link?

Use Google Cloud Search for a smart and secure business database. Find the info you need for your enterprise right when you need it with Cloud Search.

If I had a site I would intergrate it with vB's search engine.

Don't forget Google's TOS for the free version.

There is far to much legalese to post here but the main drawbacks are:

                        They will serve ads.
You must not frame their results within your own site.

Actually this is for internal use only (me). I'm just doing some searches throughout my site for quality control purposes.
