I do not lose money. I have managed to monetize the site through various sources (sponsors, google adsense, upgraded memberships, direct store sales) to cover all costs including webhosting, salaries, contract labor, office space, etc.

              Yep: www.optiboard.com

I've had the same primary sponsor since 1997.

My forum costs me ~4 € per Month. We had some months when the traffic went up to 80 GB per Month. Now we restricted access to only registered Members and we are again around the 50 GB level. (50 is my webhosts limit, each GB costs me 0.5 €)

I don't even want to discuss how much my site costs me to run. It's a lot. But worth it in the end.

I was looking at rising bandwidth usuage (soon my site will cost $182.30 per year) and I decided to show advertisements to Guests to help pay for things and to encourage them to register. So far I have made 8 cents. Only 9992 cents left to go before I get a check from Google.

I have a thing against ads on my site... but I am considering using the subscription manager in vBulletin to place in extra features for members in the future.
Congratulations on the death of vBulletin, Internet Brands.
