Just defrag before you go to bed then. You typically can't use the computer while defragging or it will not work.

It only takes me 10-15 minutes since I know when I have encountered a situation where I will have fragmentation and I run it right away.

I defrag once a week (or more - depending on if I delete or add something quite large).

The defragger that I use is VoptXP -- defrags ultra fast - heck of a lot faster than the one that's included in Windows.

I defrag once a month ... and after doing some housecleaning on my files ... and after doing a complete virus scan...

I do every 2 weeks. I have a 160gb HD (and another 15gb scratchpad disk) and I constantly move around files and download like crazy. It usually doesnt take more than an hour or less for a full drive defrag.

It takes a while to defrag 400 gigs, so I usually only do it 1-2 times a month

On NTFS File systems it doesn't take as long to defrag.

Linux users don't NEED to defrag The ext file system is designed not to become fragmented.

                        Oh, I use http://pcpitstop.com/pcpitstop/default.asp

To check my computer and it tells when if I need to defrag.

Anyway, VotXP rules! Its small and is ultra fast and shows more than the other apps!
