    Asteroid warning for 2014

BBC, News, BBC News, news online, world, uk, international, foreign, british, online, service

    Isn't a chance of 1 in 909,000 pretty disturbing?

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

Seems the odds are about the same as me getting a girlfriend

If I ever get one, I'll tell you guys to run for the hills..... not that that will really do any good

So you'd rather win an asteroid to the face than money to the pocket?

Slow news day then today, lol. The BBC could always rehash the David Kelly story for the 100th time. I have to keep hitting my TV and radio to make sure it hasn't got stuck.

"The asteroid is estimated to weigh 2.6 billion tonnes and would deliver the same energy as detonating 350 billion tonnes of TNT in the extremely unlikely event of it hitting Earth."
So, if it does hit you might end up getting your eyebrows singed (sp?)

Time to look for a group of dedicated oil riggers, and 2 space shuttles, and a nuclear device, and start planning...

If a rock as big as 2003 QQ47 ever were to hit Earth, it could have the effect of millions of Hiroshima-scale atom bombs. Such impacts are thought to have contributed to mass extinctions, including the demise of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago.
