    woah... i got my first taste of massive load on my new server - 600+ guests!!!

    it appears my temp server's ip address was used on a previous site with a heck of alot of traffic

              apparently, it was a little error in the apache configuration and it mistakenly directed traffic from 2 sites to mine - i prefer not say who the sites were

              but the server i am on at the moment dual p3 800 with 256mb ram slowed to a crawl after i saw 715 guests - so it seems there were more hitting the server.. maxing out the max mysql connections.

              the forum could function once it was down to 700 or less guests - so i have an idea of what i can handle in the future i hope...

                  If AOL or Yahoo! redirectied just 1% of there traffic for 15min, Eva would have had closer to 100,000 guests
