Porn Spammer hit my forum

I have 226 people online on my forum right now

Over 200 of them are his porn bot trying to reply to a post

This is the second time this has happened

Yes, that's my take on it. I bet they searched the search engines, and with vbulletin's meta tags, it's gonna flag tons of boards.

For some reason on my registration, there is no place for the image, or to input what the image says. I have it enabled, but not sure why it's not showing up. Any suggestions?

Remember that you are allowed to remove the "powered by vBulletin" from the page title, just not the footer. I don't know if it's freak luck or the fact that I had a required field (I now made that field optional and have image verification instead), but I'm pretty shocked that I haven't even been attempted to attack. I upgrade to 2.3.0 RC1 a few days it came out though as soon as I saw this thread.

Can't say, I made the skin myself, didn't buy it, and don't use a portal. *shrug*

well he hit me last night as [email protected] and today as [email protected] both ips where 200.168.83.60 i stopped him going down the line posting porn links quick little porn spammer like 30 post i had to delete

I have some evidence that these bots may be getting a little more ugly. I had the hotgin20 hit me today. The strange thing was that it had added a home page to its profile. The REALLY strange thing is that my site is dedicated to experimental aircraft and the home page the bot used was a webpage dedicated to experimental aircraft. I'm not sure if this means there is more manual intervention by the creep that is doing this or what. Just thought I would throw that out there.

Actually, the one that hit my other site tonight has me baffled. The user status was at "Awaiting email confirmation", that usergroup has NO posting privileges, yet it made upward of 2 dozen posts In any case, that board is now upgraded (thank you FWC)

How do you do mass prune? I'm sure that it was outlined somewhere, but I would have a hard tim going through 29 pages of posts! So, how do you do it? It would be incredibly convenient.

Ya know, I never knew of that and I went and manually removed all of them myself!!!
